“Broadway Idiot” From punk rock mosh pits and sold-out stadiums to the Great White Way, this documentary follows Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong as he transforms the mega-hit album “American Idiot” into a staged Broadway musical. The film goes behind the scenes to reveal the creative choices made and challenges faced. “Recasting Tradition” 2013-14 Visiting Artist Lecture Series explores the plasticity of definitions, the erosion of boundaries and the creation of new passages. The first speaker this year is New York artist Gelah Penn. Her use of monofilament, plastic mesh, tubing and vinyl lanyard juts out from the wall to construct three-dimensional gestural drawings.
