Day of service

Students in grades 7 through 12 at Valley Christian School volunteered for three hours Nov. 1 in various locations throughout Spokane.

More than 100 students spent time organizing food at the Second Harvest Food Bank warehouse, tearing down the corn maze at the HUB Sports Center and volunteering at four other locations.

Freeman FBLA

Freeman High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America spent Wednesday cleaning up a 2-mile stretch of Highway 27.

The chapter has been working on this project since 2008 and has noticed a drop in litter left by the side of the road since then.

“The Freeman FBLA students, under the guidance of Scott Moore, continue to set the bar for excellence with their leadership, community service and continuous improvement, not only for Freeman High School and the Freeman School District, but for our community, state and country,” said Superintendent Randy Russell.
