Man dead, another in custody in Moscow shooting

UPDATED: Sun., Nov. 10, 2013, 7:23 p.m.

A Moscow man was shot multiple times at a mobile home park Sunday and later died at a hospital, and police arrested his alleged killer.

Nathaniel H. Nisbet, 28, of Moscow was arrested for first-degree murder and booked into Latah County Jail, Moscow Police Chief David Duke said.

Nisbet allegedly shot Charles Patrick McMichael, 42, multiple times in the chest shortly before 1 p.m. at the Bel Air Mobile Home Park, 1751 North Polk Extension. McMichael died at Gritman Medical Center.

According to the preliminary investigation, McMichael went to the trailer of Nisbet’s estranged girlfriend to help her change the locks, Duke said. He and the woman found the trailer door locked and barricaded, and McMichael forced the door open.

Nisbet was inside, a disturbance ensued and shots were fired, Duke said.

Nisbet was waiting outside on the trailer deck when police arrived and was taken into custody without incident.
