Obituary: Peterson, Joy Randall

Age 88

PETERSON, Joy Randall August 19, 1925 - October 29, 2013 Believer Mother Conservationist Joy Peterson, age 88 of Greenacres, WA, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 29, 2013.

She was born in Farmington, WA to Charles and Novella Randall.

She attended Veradale Elementary, Central Valley High School, University of Washington and graduated Eastern Washington University in 1949.

Joy came to know the Lord as a little girl at Veradale Community Church, and served Him all her life.

She fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith!

Along with her husband, Walter L. Peterson, adopted five children and raised them on their farm in Greenacres.

Throughout her life she enjoyed skiing, hiking, biking, and gardening.

She had a special heart for children with disabilities and worked many years as a respite caregiver.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Novella Randall and Katharine Parker-Randall; her husband Walter L. Peterson; her sisters Lucy Shaw, Arlie Jean Payne, Ruth Zornes.

Joy is survived by her children, Kirsten Roy (Steve), Susan Walters (Dan), Debra Custer (Mike), Janna Kach (John), and James Peterson; and grandchildren Donalee, Reanna, Marie, Jennie, Nathan, Rachel, Natalie, Kelsey, Amy, Trevor, Janie; nine great-grandchildren; and brother Chuck Randall (Doris).

A celebration of Joy’s life will be held at Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 Progress Road, Veradale, WA 99037 on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Dinner reception to follow at church.
