Vote for moderates

A message to the U.S. Electoral College: Quit voting for extremists. The tea party fringe and ultra-liberal types are hurting our country. Moderate-minded representatives are what’s needed in Congress and in the Senate.

The late Tom Foley is a good example of a moderate mentality. He would never have supported a government shutdown. His statesmanship would have driven him to be part of a bipartisan solution to government budget negotiations.

It seems that the hate between the two political parties is thwarting good government. Small, ideological thinking is too dominant these days. Good government happens when both political parties recognize that neither one has all of the right ideas.
