Lady Gaga’s flying dress a big leap for performer

From Wire Reports

Lady Gaga’s album sales are already stratospheric, so why not her eveningwear?

The singer unveiled a high-tech, white vehicle she bills as the world’s first flying dress inside a mammoth building at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where she held a launch party for her new album Sunday. The battery-powered dress has six booms in a hex formation.

The entertainer said later that this was “maybe a small step for Volantis” – as she calls the metal dress – but “a big-time step” for Lady Gaga.

“Volantis is essentially a vehicle,” she told the crowd, standing in front of the floral-shaped craft topping a curvy, female silhouette that acts as a fiber-optic body piece.

Her third studio album, “Artpop,” will be released worldwide today.

‘Downton’ picked up for fifth season

Fans of “Downton Abbey,” rejoice! There will be yet another season of period romance and upstairs-downstairs drama at the country estate.

ITV announced Sunday that it has commissioned a fifth season of the costume drama about the aristocratic British Crawley family and their servants in the 1910s and 1920s.

The fourth season will begin on PBS’ “Masterpiece” beginning Jan. 5.

King returning to his radio roots

If you’ve missed the musings of Larry King, you’re in luck – he’s coming to radio in the form of minute-long, daily reports starting today.

The former CNN host will be featured on more than 50 stations owned by Cumulus across the nation. AARP will also feature it on its website, along with additional audio.

This will mark King’s return to radio, according to a statement released Saturday.

The 79-year-old King was a staple on CNN with “Larry King Live” for years, interviewing luminaries ranging from celebrities to politicians until he left the network 2010.
