Obituary: Schwisow, Maxine E.

Age 92

SCHWISOW, Maxine E. Our father Fred Schwisow waited 16 years before our mother Maxine Schwisow joined him in heaven.

What a wonderful reunion it was!

Mom died on November 6, 2013 from a brain tumor.

She was born on October 10, 1921 in Kendrick, Idaho to Agnes and Fred Bolon.

She was a descendent of Queen Anne Boleyn, wife of King Henry VIII.

Lillian Disney, Walt’s wife, was a distant cousin of mom’s.

Our mother had a wonderful, long life.

She taught school for many years in the Ritzville School District.

She loved reading, making homemade candy, and gambling (she was very lucky).

Even with her diminishing eyesight she continued to make and sell her homemade cards.

Mom loved to shop and couldn’t pass up a sale.

In fact, one Christmas when our parents came home from California, in our dad’s carry-on luggage was a frozen turkey which mom got on sale.

Plastic grocery bags were her preferred luggage, and she always saved them.

Maxine married Fred Schwisow in September 1945.

They were married for nearly 52 years.

She had three daughters Kris Schwisow, Randi (Mike) Graeber, and Nancy (Clint) Baker and one son David Schwisow.

Surviving are her daughters and her grandchildren, Tiffany Gering, Megan Gering, Staci Ambrose, Erin Rojas, Shannon Graeber, and Drew Graeber; her great-grandchildren Scarlett and Corbin Rojas; her sisters Barb German and Bev Reeve; and her in-laws Nancy Bolon, Don and Betty Schwisow, Phyllis Ziemer, and Lois Seaburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, son David, son-in-law Mike Graeber, sister Marcelle Woody and brother Vic Bolon.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 from noon-5pm at Danekas Funeral Home - Ritzville.

Funeral service is Monday, November 18th at 11:00am, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 206 S. Division, Ritzville, Pastor Bob Kenyon presiding.

Memorials may be made to Emanuel Luther Church or Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, 99210.

DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME-RITZVILLE is entrusted with arrangements.
