CdA police searching for man suspected of child enticing

From staff reports
Coeur d’Alene police are searching for a man suspected of child luring following an incident Wednesday afternoon with a 13-year-old girl. The girl told police she walked out to her mailbox, which is near her house but not right in front of it, around 2:40 p.m. She said a white, older, utility-type van pulled up and stopped near her on the street. A man described by her as a “light-colored Hispanic,” about 5-feet-10-inches tall and wearing a dark-colored beanie on his head, started walking toward her, a news release said. She was scared and started to walk fast toward her house. She said he walked faster toward her. She said she began to run toward her house and he ran after her. She ran into her back yard and started beating on the back door. Her mother opened the door and let her in, the release said. Her mother did not see the man leave or get a look at the van. The girl said she did not see a front license plate on the van. She said it had dark windows and a curtain behind the front seats. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the police at (208) 769-2320 or email policetips@cdaid.org.
