Heavy snow forecast for Washington mountains

SEATTLE — Forecasters say a storm is moving into Washington Friday with lowland rain and heavy mountain snow. Accumulations by Saturday morning are expected to be a foot to a foot-and-a-half in the Cascades passes. Drivers should be prepared for the snow on Snoqualmie, Stevens and White passes. About 2 feet of snow is forecast for Mount Rainier. Rain with mountain snow also is forecast through Saturday in Eastern Washington. Forecasters also say temperatures are dropping, with highs over the weekend only in the 40s in Western Washington and 30s and 40s in Eastern Washington.
