Colfax, Davenport in 2B semifinals
YAKIMA – Powerhouse Colfax (34-1), the 2011 and 2012 runner-up, sailed into the State 2B volleyball semifinals again on Friday, toppling South Bend 25-20, 25-13, 25-17 at the SunDome.
The Bulldogs then bested Morton-White Pass 25-8, 25-10, 25-16. The Bulldogs will face Darrington at 1 p.m. today.
Davenport (23-5) joined the Bulldogs in the semifinals with two straight-set wins, besting Tacoma Baptist, 25-19, 25-13, 25-18, and then outlasting Asotin, 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-14. The Gorillas will tangle with Toutle Lake at 1 p.m.
Lind-Ritzville/Sprague (17-9) dropped Kittitas 25-15, 25-13, 25-14 to advance to the quarterfinals before losing to Darrington, 25-12, 25-16, 23-25, 25-16. The Broncos will face Morton-White Pass in consolation action this morning at 9. A win would advance the Broncos to the fifth-sixth trophy game.

All four area teams are still in the trophy hunt.
Two-time defending champion Tekoa-Oakesdale (23-6) kept its hopes of a threepeat alive, beating Odessa-Harrington (18-9-1) in the opening round, 25-16, 25-14, 25-22, and then blitzing Shoreline Christian 25-4, 25-5, 25-7. The Nighthawks will face Mount Vernon Christian in the semifinals at 1 p.m.
Odessa-Harrington bounced back to defeat Lake Quinault, 25-14, 25-11, 25-17, to advance to a 9 a.m. consolation match against Sunnyside Christian. A win there would move the Titans into the seventh-eighth match later in the day.
Wilbur-Creston (18-7) advanced to the quarterfinals, beating Rainier Christian, 25-13, 25-13 and 25-11. The Wildcats were beaten by Pomeroy in four games.
W-C will play Pateros at 11 a.m. with a chance to move into the fifth-sixth-place match by winning.
Alimra/Coulee-Hartline (15-9) also advanced to the quarterfinals, toppling Sunnyside Christian 24-26, 25-15, 29-27, 12-25, 15-12. The Warriors were knocked into the consolation bracket by Mount Vernon Christian, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22. ACH will play Shoreline Christian at 11 a.m. A win there would move the Warriors into the fifth-sixth match.

Freeman and Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) advanced to the semifinals.
Freeman (25-6) stunned top-ranked and highly regarded King’s in the first round, 27-25, 17-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-13, and then shook off a first-set loss to Cedar Park Christian to advance to the semis, 25-27, 25-14, 25-12, 25-10.
The Scotties will take on Cascade in a 1 p.m. semifinal.
Lakeside (23-5), looking to get back to the title game after a runner-up finish in 2012, defeated Woodland 16-25, 25-7, 25-22, 25-9 to advance, and then knocked Lynden Christian aside, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-17, in the quarterfinals.
The Eagles will play Chelan in a 1 p.m. semifinal.
