In brief: Coulter Dentistry toy drive will benefit children’s hospital

SPOKANE VALLEY – Coulter Family Dentistry, 12121 E. Broadway, Building 2, is holding a toy drive through Dec. 16.

New, unopened toys will be collected at the office for Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. Children who are being treated at the hospital during the holidays get the opportunity to “shop” for their siblings in a room that has been turned into Santa’s workshop.

Gifts for all age groups are needed, especially those for teens.

CVSD presents Fill the Bus event

SPOKANE VALLEY – The middle schools in the Central Valley School District will present the ninth annual Fill the Bus food drive today from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at five grocery stores in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake.

Bowdish Middle School will be at Fred Meyer, 15609 E. Sprague Ave.; Evergreen Middle School will be at Safeway, 14020 E. Sprague Ave.; Greenacres Middle School will be at Albertsons, 1304 N. Liberty Lake Road; Horizon Middle School will be at Albertsons, 13606 E. 32nd Ave.; and North Pines Middle School will be at Trading Co., 13014 E. Sprague Ave.

This year, Bowdish principal Dave Bouge will drive the “turkey truck” between locations, picking up frozen turkey donations. All donations will benefit Spokane Valley Partners food bank.

Students will accept food items for the holidays, cash and frozen turkeys to fill the yellow school buses parked outside each location.
