Obituary: Jones, Dewey “Wimpy”
Born in Madge, Oklahoma in 1934, Dewey called much of the west coast home through a long wandering life.
He had settled in Boardman, OR at the time of his passing.
Dewey was involved in the automobile business much of his life and enjoyed sales and cars.
He was a salesman, managed and owned many different dealerships in his life.
He was known for expressions like “an inch is a cinch, a yard is kinda hard and a mile is a trial” as well as “Smiles are free and contagious too” and was always quick to laugh and smile.
In his youth, he boxed professionally as well as serving in the Navy in the 1950’s.
He spent much of his childhood in Brawley, California.
He overcame many obstacles in his life with the help of his wife Theresa.
Chess, cribbage and fishing were some of his favorite leisure activities.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Jones as well as his children Vonn, Derek, Monica and Rocky.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dewey’s life was complex and his breadth of experience gave him a rare perspective.
Service will be held at Church of Christ, 17221 Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley 99016 Reception to follow same location with light lunch.
