Obituary: Anzalone, Joseph Michael

Age 80

ANZALONE, Joseph Michael Born May 1, 1933 to Antoinette and Joseph who emigrated from Sicily to New York State passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 17, 2013.

Joe is preceded in death by his brother Carmen of Toms River, NJ, his sister, Sister Angela Anzalone of Buffalo, NY and his eldest son, Joe of Copala, Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mira, sons Steve, wife Leah, Mike, wife Leann, and daughter Teresa Anzalone/Willow Moon.

Nine grandchildren; Erin Jordon, Giamo Anzalone, Lacy McNair, Maggie Simchuck, Aaron Anzalone, Sarah Conley, Kyle Anzalone, Nick Anzalone and Juniper Anzalone.

Ten great-grandchildren; Veronica Jordon, Maya and Alex Simchuck, TJ McNair, Grace, Lilya and Bailey Anzalone, Aaron Anzalone, Lilly and Rowan Anzalone.

Joe’s brother Leonard Anzalone, wife Fran and sister Mary Basirico, husband Tony and their children and grandchildren in New York.

Joe is loved and respected by his family, friends and the community he lived in.

He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandkids, watching the Seahawks, Gonzaga Basketball and the Mariners.

Joe loved to whip up a large pot of spaghetti for family dinners; he found pleasure in anything sweet, especially chocolate, the challenge of winning the bid at the auto auction.

Joe always showed integrity and “top notch” customer service when helping families shop for their vehicle.

A visitation will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 from noon until 7:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.
