Obituary: Roberge, Robert “Bob”
Age 68
He passed away November 14, 2013 in the comfort of his home with family present.
He was adopted by Homer and Eva Roberge.
Bob was raised in Tupper Lake, New York.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate Patricia “Patty” Roberge; 10 children , Phyllis, Melissa, Bobbie-Jo, Jason, Christina, Michelle, Angela, Shawn, Justin, and Scott; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; also numerous sons and daughters-in-law.
Shortly after birth, Bob was adopted by his parents Homer and Eva Roberge.
He was raised with his brother Gerald Roberge in Tupper Lake, New York.
Bob enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War as military police.
Later in life he met the love of his life, Patty, where they had six wonderful children.
They resided in the little town of Cusick, WA.
There, Bob supported his family doing the one and only thing he thoroughly loved doing, and that was driving semi-trucks.
Bob did whatever it took to make sure that his wife and children had everything they needed and wanted, sometimes spending multiple weeks from home working.
He supported his wife’s dreams of becoming a school teacher and moved the family to Custer, MT.
There, Bob continued driving truck while Patty taught grade school.
Over the course of several years, the family found themselves returning to Bob and Patty’s home town of Spokane, WA, where they lived for many years.
Bob and Patty pursued to grow their trucking business from a small single truck operation to a multiple truck operation.
He was doing what he loved, and that was trucks.
After several years, Bob and Patty decided that retirement was the life for them.
They sold their business, house, and belongings and moved to Goodyear, AZ.
There they spent four years together.
They loved being together.
After becoming ill, Bob and Patty returned home to Spokane, spending the final months of his life with all 10 of his children.
Bob made many career changes in his life, but his ultimate love was helping people.
He went to any means to make sure that others had, even if it meant he went without.
He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and friend.
He had an infectious personality, drawing people to him.
He touched many people’s lives over the years and many consider him as not only a friend, but a father figure.
His life will be dearly missed but will remain in the hearts and minds of all he has known.
There will be a funeral mass on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00 am, at Mary Queen Parish in Spokane; where Bob will be honored by military honors and Father Paul S. Vevik will be officiating.
