EV students selected for All-State Choir

 

Seven choir students at East Valley High School have been selected for the Washington Music Educator’s Association’s All-State Honor Choir performing groups.

The students will go to Yakima, Feb. 12-16, 2014, and will rehearse and perform with world-renowned conductors. The students were selected through auditions.

Students selected for the All-State Treble Choir are senior Elisha Allred and junior Miranda Harrison. Students selected for All-State Symphonic Choir are seniors Morgan Cockrill, Curtis Denmark, Katlyn Kelley and Rebecca Stockton; and sophomore Isabel Morales.

The choir director at East Valley is Andrea LaPlante.

Otis Orchards seeks votes

Otis Orchards School in the East Valley School District is currently in 37th place in a competition to win $200,000 in Stanley Security equipment.

Three runners-up will win $100,000 in equipment. The school is hoping people will go online to vote for the school.

You can vote at www.stanleysaferschools.com or by texting the school name and city to 99222 daily. Repeated texts/votes are allowed.

Votes will be accepted through Dec. 13.
