Nicholas Knapton, P.S. has hired Peter Nelson as a supervisor. Previously, Nelson was with Brink & Sadler, CPAs. Laurie Barone and Ashley Dipo have also been hired as support staff. Barone previously worked for Irvine & Co., LLC and Dipo was a mental health counselor.

Architecture

SPVV Landscape Architects has promoted Anne Hanenburg to associate. Hanenberg has been with the firm since 2005. She is a licensed landscape architect and a board member of the Spokane Arts Commission.

Communications

Desautel Hege Communications has promoted Jessica Wade from account coordinator to account executive. Wade has been with the firm since 2012. She will assist with strategic consultation and planning, and coordinate copywriting, design, media outreach and business development.

Engineering

Storhaug Engineering has promoted Jeff Morse to construction services manager. Morse has been with the company since 1998.

McKinstry has hired Brent Tracy as project director and Jeff Fishman as senior construction manager for the Spokane office. Tracy has more than 20 years of experience in the procurement and management of energy efficiency systems. He has been a certified energy manager of the Association of Energy Engineers since 1992 and worked previously for SCIenergy, Johnson Controls Inc., and Siemens. Fishman has 25 years of mechanical construction industry experience. Previously, he served as a senior project manager in the Maryland and California offices of the Limbach Co.

Finance

Numerica Credit Union has been given the Excellence Award for Innovative Solutions in the Sales & Service Management category for its work in increased loan production and performance. The award was presented by the Credit Union National Association Operations, Sales & Service Council. Numerica has also opened a downtown branch at 502 W. Riverside Ave.

Sterling Bank of Spokane has been awarded the 2013 Community Spirit Award by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle (Seattle Bank). The award is given to a member of the Seattle Bank cooperative and recognizes the bank’s community investments programs.

Health

The National Association of Rural Health Clinics has named Michael Bell as a recipient of the Ron Nelson Award. The award recognizes individuals who have helped advance services in rural health clinics. Bell has been in the health care industry for more than 30 years and is a retired partner from Wipfli’s Spokane office. He was the co-founder of the Rural Health Clinic Association of Washington and serves as an honorary board member.

Law

Winston & Cashatt has hired Caitlin O’Brien and Corey Quinn as associates. O’Brien practices real estate litigation, land use, zoning, natural resource law, and personal injury. She is a member of the Spokane County Bar Association, Washington State Association for Justice, and Washington Women Lawyers. Quinn will focus his practice on construction-related issues, such as construction defects, contract disputes and bond claims. Both O’Brien and Quinn previously worked as clerks for the firm.

Nonprofit

The city of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission has named Victoria and Ken Roberge as Support of the Arts award recipients. The award recognizes individuals for their dedicated involvement in the arts community in Coeur d’Alene.

Ryan Grant has been appointed to the board of the Spokane HOPE School (Hearing-Oral Program of Excellence). Grant is a teacher at Michael Anderson Elementary and the chair of the Eastern Washington chapter of the Advocacy Committee for Political Education for the Washington Education Association.

Real estate

EXIT Realty Corporation International has awarded Barbara Frye with the Bronze Award. The award recognizes achievement in a high number of closed transaction sides. Frye is an agent with EXIT Real Estate North Spokane.
