Christian values shunned

Letter writers wring their hands about the mass shootings. They call for stricter controls.

Up to the 1960s, high school juniors and seniors had a gun rack in their pickups. At the end of school on Fridays, they’d hit the road and go hunting: no school shootings. We had a basic moral credo back then: We honored God in prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and Ten Commandments. God was an integral part of our government: Check out the statues and writings in our revered government buildings in Washington, D.C.

But someone in authority, one day, arbitrarily created a concept: separation of church and state. The cynics and atheists started their continuing assault on our Christian values. The elitists are winning and we’re reaping a whirlwind.
