Whitworth basketball falls to Colorado College

SPOKANE, Wash. – Ryan Milne made four free throws in the final 16 seconds and the Colorado College men’s basketball team thwarted Whitworth’s comeback attempt and beat the Pirates 65-60 at the Whitworth Invitational on Saturday.

Colorado College led by eight points at the half and by 10 with a little more than 6 minutes to play, but Whitworth rallied in the closing minutes. George Valle made two free throws with 17 seconds left to bring Whitworth within three, but Milne’s free throws iced it for the Tigers.

Valle finished with a game-high 23 points. Colton McCargar added 13 points and six rebounds for Whitworth (2-1).

Colorado College (2-0) was led by Chris Lesnansky’s 21 points and six rebounds.
