Photo: A Capitol Christmas

Decorations will go to good cause: Volunteers decorate a state holiday tree in the Capitol Rotunda in Olympia on Monday. The 24-foot noble fir is from a tree farm in Lewis County. A public tree-lighting ceremony sponsored by the Association of Washington Business will take place Dec. 6. The tree is decorated with 5,000 LED lights and various decorations, including stuffed Disney characters. When the tree is taken down Dec. 30, the stuffed animals will be wrapped and given to patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital. (Associated Press)
