Obituary: Decker, Sue Margaret

Age 83

DECKER, Sue Margaret Sue Margaret Crabtree-Decker passed away peacefully in her Spokane, WA home on Monday, November 18, 2013.

She was the widow of Russ Decker.

The daughter of the late Harley and Emma Crabtree, Sue was born on January 13, 1930.

She graduated from Spangle High School in 1947 and worked for 25 years as a cook at the Spokane Ridpath Hotel.

Sue had a soft heart for stray animals, enjoyed fishing with her family, and demonstrated her artistic talent by painting as well as garnering awards for flower arranging and culinary art sculptures.

She was a member of the Spokane Eagles Aerie #2, Rebecca Lodge #38 and VFW #51.

For 15 years, Sue enjoyed a loving relationship with the late Kiel Ganoung.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon Crabtree; her son, Bruce Hengen; her daughters, Linda Gorsuch and Sharon Toles; three nieces; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at the Spangle Community Church on Monday, December 2 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to an animal shelter of your choice.
