Obituary: Mason, Richard Harding

Age 92

MASON, Richard Harding (Age 92) Of Spokane, WA entered into rest November 23, 2013.

Richard was born March 4, 1921, the youngest of seven children into a pastor’s home.

All of them loved music and played instruments.

Because of his love for and skill in playing the trombone, Richard received a musical scholarship to Eastern Washington University where he earned a Master’s degree in Music and Education.

Military service included playing in the Army - Air Force Band.

He then taught music in Lind, WA and later became principal for the West Valley School District in Yakima.

Richard and Phyllis enjoyed living in Hawaii and later relocated to Spokane.

It was a joy to travel together and seventy (70) years of marriage demonstrated great love and faithfulness in their lives.

Richard is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Spokane; sons, Tim Mason of Yakima, WA and Phil Mason of Grangeville, ID; and a daughter, Davida Louise of Spokane, WA.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ron Mason of Kennewick, WA.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Valley Assembly of God, 15618 E. Broadway, Spokane Valley.
