Extended The University of Montana extended the contract of head football coach Mick Delaney through the 2014 season. Delaney is in the second year of a two-year contract. The Grizzlies posted a 10-2 record this season and are seeded eighth in the FCS playoffs after winning seven of their last eight games.
• Oregon head men’s basketball coach Dana Altman has received a three-year contract extension through the 2019-20 season. The Ducks finished 28-9 while advancing to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament last season. Altman was named the Pac-12 coach of the year. In Altman’s fourth season as coach, Oregon is 4-0 and ranked No. 14.
Agreed UNLV head football coach Bobby Hauck has agreed to a new three-year contract that will take him through the 2016 season. The terms of the deal weren’t immediately released. The contract still must be approved by the Nevada Board of Regents. The Rebels (6-5) are bowl eligible this season for the first time since 2000.

Expected Cal freshman QB Jared Goff is expected to be ready for spring practice after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder. He separated his throwing shoulder during Cal’s loss at Stanford on Saturday. Goff broke Cal’s (1-11) single-season records for yards passing (3,508), total offense (3,446), passes completed (320) and passes attempted (531) while starting all 12 games as a freshman.
Quiet Lawyers for Aaron Hernandez say their client won’t answer accusations in a federal lawsuit filed by a man who says the former star NFL tight end shot him in the face outside a Miami strip club. Attorneys say the former University of Florida player is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating themselves.
Died According to the Brazilian soccer federation, Nilton Santos, twice a World Cup winner for Brazil, has died of a lung infection in a Rio de Janeiro hospital. He was 88. Santos played with Pele on the Brazilian teams that captured the World Cup in 1958 and 1962.
