Don’t forget Fitzgerald

Referencing your Nov. 24 article as it relates to unparalleled financial growth at Gonzaga University. You correctly attribute this good fortune to the success of the basketball program. You identify many major benefactors who are responsible for considerable financial contributions. I contend that while his contribution wasn’t financial, it was the incredible vision and effort of former coach Dan Fitzgerald that sparked the beginning of this unprecedented growth. He was the catalyst, and it is he who deserves such recognition.
