Suspect sought in CdA stabbing
Three Coeur d’Alene schools were in lockdown mode this afternoon while police searched for a suspect in a stabbing on East Sherman Avenue.
Police responded to reports of a man being stabbed four to five times on the 1600 block of East Sherman just before 2 p.m. The victim, described as a young man, has been transported to Kootenai Medical Center due to the extent of his injuries.
The suspect left the scene on a mountain bike. He was described as a white or possibly Hispanic male, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a dark colored beanie cap, shorts, and a backpack.
The investigation is ongoing. Officers and detectives will be at the scene and surrounding locations for some time longer.
The schools that were in lock-down mode were Lakes Middle School and Fernan and Sorensen elementary schools.
