GU women tie for second place

Ciera Min shot her second straight 73 during the final round and the Gonzaga women’s golf team tied for second place at the Rose City Collegiate Tuesday at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore.

Min’s two-round total of 2-over-par 146 earned her a tie for third place. The Bulldogs’ Raychelle Santos finished one shot back and tied for sixth.

Oregon State ran away with the team title, winning by 14 strokes. The Beavers’ Anica Yoo shot a 2-under 142 and won by a stroke.

Washington State finished in sixth place. The Cougars were led by Mallory Kent, who finished tied for 14th at 7-over 151.

Eastern Washington’s top finisher – Taylor Crandall – finished tied for 17th at 8-over 152. The Eagles took 11th place.

• Brady Calkins shot a final-round 4-under-par 68 and Community Colleges of Spokane won its second tournament in a row by edging Concordia at the Cavalier Classic at Heron Lakes Golf Club in Portland, Ore.

Calkins finished the three-day tournament at 3-under 213. CCS’s Cole Lorenzo tied for seventh at 1-under 215 and Cooper Wright tied for 10th at 2-over 218. Northwest Christian University’s Tyler Falk followed up his second-round 64 with a 68 in the third round and won by seven strokes.

North Idaho’s Angus Montgomery finished in second place at 5-under 211 and the Cardinals took sixth place. The North Idaho women also finished sixth.
