Atlanta Braves leave Uggla off roster

Ap

Slumping second baseman Dan Uggla is being left off the Atlanta Braves’ roster for the N.L. division series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Outfielder B.J. Upton, who is hitting only .184, is on the roster.

Uggla, a three-time All-Star, has 22 homers but hit only .179 this season. He struggled with vision problems and finally was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 13 so he could have laser eye surgery.

The surgery didn’t appear to help. Uggla hit only .122 in 49 at-bats in September and began losing playing time to Elliot Johnson.
