Pac-12 football picks    By Jacob Thorpe

You have no idea if I’m good at this. These are my first Pac-12 picks and, as such, you can’t look at my record from last week or from the season itself as a reference. As such – and I cannot emphasize this enough – these picks are purely for entertainment purposes.

Laugh at them, cry at them, use them as kindling. But do not use them for gambling purposes. Oh, that way madness lies.

UCLA at Utah, UCLA by 6: Bruins show Utes that no matter what the stats say, Brett Hundley is a much better player than Travis Wilson. UCLA 42-17

Oregon at Colorado, Oregon by 39 ½: Either the odds makers are giving Colorado way more than three points for home-field advantage or the bookies simply can’t get anyone to put money on the Buffaloes. Oregon 72-14

Arizona St. at Notre Dame, Arizona St. by 6: The Sun Devils have played well, but Notre Dame will get its act together eventually. This week in South Bends seems as good a time as any. Notre Dame 27-20

Washington at Stanford, Stanford by 7: What happened last time there was a showdown between ranked UW and Stanford teams in Palo Alto? The Huskies got drubbed 65-21. The gap has closed, but not enough to get UW the road victory. Stanford 34-27

Washington St. at California, Washington St. by 1: Cal turned the ball over at will against Oregon last week and the Cougars have shown a penchant for takeaways. WSU takes one away in the Bay this weekend. WSU 37-28
