Patchy frost forecast for tonight in Spokane

Patchy frost tonight in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas could bring an end to the growing season for tender plants, forecasters said this morning A flow of cool, dry air from the north will allow heat to radiate away from the ground tonight, setting the stage for frost. Lows in the urban area are expected to run from 32 to 34 degrees, creating the possibility of frost in some locations, but not others. Outlying areas such as Deer Park could see lows in the 20s. A new system of higher air pressure is bringing a break in the storm pattern through Sunday, forecasters said. It will also bring warmer temperatures. After tonight, the risk of frost will ease for several days. Highs should run in the upper 50s to lower 60s through the weekend with lows in the 40s. The next chance of precipitation arrives Sunday night and Monday.
