CV schools invite public to forums

The Central Valley School District is inviting parents and community members to attend one of three focus groups to share ideas and thoughts regarding the district’s strategic plan.

The district is beginning a yearlong process of renewing the plan, which has been in place since 2010. District officials hope the focus groups can add to the goals for the next three to five years.

The first of these parent groups will be for elementary school parents, Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at McDonald Elementary School, 1512 S. McDonald Road.

Middle school parents are invited Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Middle School, 14221 E. 16th Ave.

Community members can attend Oct. 24 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Evergreen Middle School.

The focus groups will shape the next step in the renewal process, the Strategic Planning Summit, which will be Feb. 7.

For more information, call district spokeswoman Melanie Rose at (509) 228-5405.
