Chairlift opens in 2014-15; water park open year-round

Mt. Spokane’s new red chairlift is slated to open for the 2014-15 season. Due to a reporting error, Friday’s front page article “Downhill from here” indicated it would open earlier. Also, Silver Mountain’s water park remains open throughout the year. The article indicated otherwise because of an editing error.

Pot article misrepresented statement by professor

Because of a reporter’s error, a Sept. 24 article about the health effects of marijuana misrepresented a statement by Roger Roffman, a professor emeritus at the University of Washington. Roffman said in an interview that a well-designed study of marijuana’s potential benefits would have trouble getting funding from a federal agency because of the drug’s classification as a Schedule 1 drug.
