Where are the priorities?

Last week the House of Representatives cut $40 billion from the federal food stamp program, which will push 4 million people back into poverty. Two days later, the House added $20 billion to the military budget that the Pentagon did not even ask for.

This doesn’t make sense to me, but what is even worse is that our congresswoman, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, voted to cut this food program. This will also not make sense to the 17 percent (120,000 people), which includes children, in poverty now in Eastern Washington.

Where are your priorities, Cathy? Who do you really represent? Cut the Pentagon and refund food stamps.
