Jaguars welcome back Blackmon
The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) have activated receiver Justin Blackmon from the reserve/suspended list and waived guard Jacques McClendon.
Blackmon did not count against the team’s 53-man roster while he was suspended the first four games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Blackmon had 64 receptions for 865 yards last season and averaged 13.5 yards a catch – all franchise rookie records. His five receiving touchdowns tied the club’s rookie record. He started 15 games and ended the season with at least five catches in six of the last seven games.
Bills work out QB Dixon
Free-agent quarterback Dennis Dixon will have a workout with the Buffalo Bills today, a person familiar with Dixon’s plans confirmed to the AP.
FoxSports.com first reported Dixon’s workout. NFL.com also reported that Pat White worked out for the Bills.
Buffalo has one healthy QB in undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel (Washington State), after rookie EJ Manuel sprained the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee Thursday night in a loss at Cleveland. Manuel is expected to miss several weeks.
Pats don’t pack Gronk
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski reportedly did not travel with the team for today’s game at Cincinnati.
Gronkowski has not played since breaking his forearm during a Jan. 13 playoff game. He also underwent back surgery in June.
