Obituary: Johnson, Gregory Clark

Age 60

JOHNSON, Gregory Clark (Age 60) Greg left this Earth on September 29, 2013 very peacefully in his Spokane Valley home surrounded by friends, family and a lot of love.

Greg was lucky enough to be born to parents Bruce and Pat Johnson on November 6, 1952 in Spokane, WA, who both preceded him in death.

Greg was proud to have graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1971.

He worked for the local phone company for many years, where he was a proud member of the Pioneers.

He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Bloomsday, and Needy Families for Christmas.

He served as an altar boy for many years at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Greg was always warm and gracious and made everyone feel comfortable in his home.

According to one of his hospice nurses, she had never met anyone with a terminal illness who was so polite and appreciative of all the help and care he had received over the years.

It was a long and hard-fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis, yet Greg still enjoyed life until the end.

Greg leaves behind his partner of 35 years, Don Stolicker; his brother, David (Joyce); his sister, Cathy (Reid); his niece, Brittney; and many cousins.

Greg had more than just one family.

As Greg and Don became close, he had the good fortune of inheriting all of Don’s extended family in New York.

In his later years, Greg was also blessed to have gained a third family in Sherron Brewer; her daughters, Debbie and Angie Morales; and her granddaughter, Sherridan Morales.

In addition, Greg left behind many friends, each of whom he loved dearly.

The memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 1:30 PM, at Community Cremation and Funeral Spokane Valley.

In lieu of flowers, Don requests donations be made in Greg’s name to the Spokane Humane Society, 6607 N. Havana St., Spokane, WA 99217, because Greg loved animals so much.
