Obituary: Titus, Norbert “Norb”

Age 82

TITUS, Norbert “Norb” (Age 82) Our beloved father, Norb Titus went home to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of September 28, 2013 in Spokane, Washington.

Norb was born April 8, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Lillie and Edmund Titus.

Norb joined the Air Force in 1951 and spent most of his four years at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane.

He was assigned to maintain the armament systems of the B36 Bomber.

He won a few awards while stationed at Fairchild.

After marrying Rosemary in 1955, he went to work at Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co.

He progressed to Maintenance Manager of large and small telephone systems.

Norb retired in 1983 after 28 years of service.

He was a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2 in Spokane.

He enjoyed playing poker and betting the horse races and he spent many hours with family and friends playing different home games.

He loved spending time with his family.

“Norb” or “Uncle” was his name to almost everyone.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, five brothers, a sister, and his beloved wife, Rosemary.

We take joy in knowing he is with his wife and family once again.

Norb is survived by: his two daughters; Linda (Tom) Elston of Spokane, and Sandra Suriano of Spokane; his sister, Doris (Titus) Waters of Philadelphia; and many relatives, including nieces and nephews.

Norb was kind, thoughtful, caring, and a real gentleman.

He was loved by everyone who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon, Monday October 7th at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home.

A reception will follow at 2:00pm at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N. Lidgerwood, Spokane, WA.

Memorial donations in the name of Norbert Titus may be made to Hospice of Spokane, 121 S. Arthur, Spokane, WA.
