Idaho man pleads guilty in Montana fatal crash
BUTTE, Mont. — An Idaho man has pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the January death of a St. Ignatius woman in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 90 in southwestern Montana.
The Montana Standard reports 42-year-old Christopher M. Kepler of Sandpoint also pleaded guilty on Sept. 6 to two counts of felony criminal endangerment.
Powell County Attorney Lewis Smith says authorities continue to work on a pre-sentence investigation and a sentencing date has not been set.
Prosecutors say Kepler was speeding westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 near Garrison when his SUV struck a Dodge pickup pulling a horse trailer. The crash killed 57-year-old Patricia Graves and injured her husband, Benjamin Graves.
