Obituary: Walking, Vivian Lucille (Ziegler)

Age 88

WALKING, Vivian Lucille (Ziegler) (Age 88) Born on March 5, 1925 in Loveland, Colorado to the Reverend William Olin and Clara Ziegler.

She passed away peacefully on October 6, 2013 with her daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Mike Didier by her side.

Vivian was married to her soul mate, James William Walkling on January 24, 1948 in Hermosa Beach, California.

They started their family on the cattle ranch in South Dakota and Nebraska but moved back to southern California in 1953.

Before moving to the Spokane area Vivian was the Manager of the largest Christian Bookstore in southern California at Melodyland Christian Center in Anaheim, CA.

James and Vivian raised four children William “Billy”, Sharon, Cheryl and Bryan.

Jims’ poor health required an early retirement from construction so they packed up their family and moved to Valleyford/Spokane, WA in 1974.

Vivian worked as the Manager at a Dry Cleaners/Laundromat in south Spokane at 29th and Grand for nearly 17 years.

Vivian is survived by one daughter Cheryl Didier (Michael); five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents the Reverend William Olin and Clara Ziegler, her in-laws William and Sarah Walkling, son William “Billy”, daughter Sharon, son Bryan and her beloved husband of nearly 64 years James Walkling.

A time of visitation will be held at Heritage on Monday 10-5PM and a Celebration of Vivian’s Life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Heritage Chapel, pastors Chuck and Julene Trimborn of Glad Tidings Assembly of God officiating.
