Spokane Sheriff’s Office seeks convenience store robber

From staff reports
Spokane County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a man they say robbed a Spokane Valley convenience store last month. Surveillance footage shows the robber, clad in a red hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and a kerchief over his face, enter the Zip Trip at 1403 N. Mullan Road shortly before 1 a.m. on Sept. 26. A clerk said she heard the front-door buzzer go off and emerged from a back office to find the robber brandishing a black handgun, according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office news release. The man, who the clerk described as in his 20s or 30s, fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. A search of the area with a police dog was unsuccessful, according to the release. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or online at crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
