WSU men 2nd at Firestone

 

The Washington State men’s golf team saw its eight-shot lead disappear during the final round and the Cougars finished second at the Firestone Invitational Tuesday at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

WSU finished two shots behind South Carolina-Aiken.

The Cougars’ Sang Lee shot a final-round 72 and tied for eighth at even-par 216. Bhurinat Songpaiboon shot a 77 and tied for 21st at 3-over 219.

• Idaho shot a 306 in the final round and finished tied for ninth at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C. The Vandals’ Aaron Cockerill tied for 18th.
