In brief: Donations benefit Meals on Wheels

SPOKANE VALLEY – Greater Spokane County Meals on Wheels will receive 12 cents for every pound of clothing donated to Value Village in Spokane Valley during the month of October.

Donations can be dropped off at the Meals on Wheels office, 12101 E. Sprague Ave., and Valley Value Village, 12205 E. Sprague Ave.

CHENEY – The StageWest Community Theater presents “It Was a Dark and Stormy Night,” a play about Ye Olde Wayside Inn in Massachusetts, which is run by an eccentric family and haunted by the ghost of a soldier who deserted at Valley Forge.

When strangers seek shelter at the inn the killing times begin – who will survive the stormy night?

The show is presented on Friday and Saturday evenings, through Oct. 26 with curtain time at 7 p.m. The show on Oct. 26 begins with a New England-style dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday matinees are on Oct. 13 and Oct. 27 at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $12; $10 for seniors and students. Tickets for the dinner theater are $25, reservations are required.

Performances take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St., in Cheney.
