Obituary: Cape, Nancy Jane

Age 78

CAPE, Nancy Jane (Age 78) Of Spokane, Washington, previously of Port Town- send, passed away peacefully Friday evening in the company of her loving daughter Stephanie Cape, and son-in-law Davide Trezzi.

Born February 1, 1935 in Racine, Wisconsin, Nancy was married for 51 years to Donald Paul Cape, her loving and devoted husband who preceded her in death.

Nancy graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1958 with a Bachelor in Art Education, and always remained grateful to the SC Johnson Company of Racine, WI for their generous scholarship.

Nancy spoke Spanish, and was an accomplished artist who devoted herself and talents to teaching art.

In her lifetime, Nancy positively impacted the lives of thousands of grade school children and developmentally challenged children and young adults.

Upon retirement, Nancy enjoyed spending time with her husband Donald, her art, cooking, sewing on an ancient Singer (her curtains and teddybears were the “cat’s meow”), knitting, decorating her home and collecting country antiques.

Every Christmas Nancy would design and draw beautifully handcrafted Christmas Cards to send to the special people in her life.

As Wife, Mother and Friend, Nancy was an honest, loving, intelligent, and outgoing woman with a wonderful free-spirited sense of humor.

She is deeply loved, hugely missed, and will live in our hearts forever.

A service will be held by family and friends.
