Spokane police searching for man involved in shooting on North Martin

Spokane police are searching for a man suspected of shooting another in northeast Spokane this morning. A man with a gunshot wound to the chest was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following the shooting on North Martin Street, Spokane police said. Police say the incident appears to be a drug-related robbery. Police responded to a shooting call at 2608 N. Martin about 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Police were still searching for the shooter, who fled on foot. He’s described as a white man, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-6-inches tall with a solid build, calloused hands, dark hair, a dark shirt and sunglasses, and armed with a handgun. Anyone with information is asked to call 911. The 2600 block of North Martin is closed while police investigate.
