Pistons’ Rodney Stuckey breaks thumb

Detroit Pistons’ Rodney Stuckey broke a bone in his right thumb after catching it in a car door. The Pistons said Thursday that Stuckey, injured Wednesday, will have surgery today and that a timeline for his return will be determined after the procedure. The former Eastern Washington Eagle has a fracture of the distal phalanx on his right thumb. Stuckey suffered the injury when his right hand, his shooting hand, got caught inside the door jamb of his vehicle while the door was closing. The 27-year-old averaged 11.5 points in 76 games last season. Entering his seventh season in the NBA, the Kentwood High product has averaged 29.5 minutes and 13.4 points.
