Schimmels, Thompson will keep City Council tip-top

It’s a free country; we’re all entitled to our own political philosophies. But just saying “no” is what’s causing the gridlock in Washington, D.C. Teamwork and cooperation enables the government to function.

I’m happy with Spokane Valley’s City Council. They use teamwork and cooperation to solve problems. Our roads are kept up and improved. Our infrastructure is maintained while they hold the line on taxes. They don’t hire expensive consultants like the last City Council. They do their own homework.

Gary Schimmels has been a proven team player. He’s doing the job he was elected to do, and doing it well. He’s earned the right to be re-elected.

When the City Council opening occurred, Linda Thompson tied with the other nominee for council votes, and a coin toss gave her opponent the position. What a shame. Thompson is admired and respected by every group she is involved with. She’s a well-known team player and leader.

Incidentally, this City Council does not have a woman on it. Since over 50 percent of Spokane Valley citizens are women, it’s only logical that this highly talented woman add her perspective to our governing body.

Keep our capable City Council tip-top with Gary Schimmels and Linda Thompson.

Sally Jackson
