Man with knife tries to enter Buckingham Palace

LONDON — Police have arrested a man with a knife who tried to enter Buckingham Palace in London. The Metropolitan Police said the 44-year-old man was apprehended just before noon on Monday as he tried to enter through a palace gate. Police said they found a knife when they searched the man and arrested him on suspicion of trespassing on a protected site and possession of an offensive weapon. The force said the man is currently in custody at a London police station. In September, police arrested two men over a suspected break-in at Buckingham Palace in what was considered a rare breach of royal security.
