Obituary: Bellefeuille, Elizabeth “Betty”

Tue., Oct. 15, 2013

Age 87

BELLEFEUILLE, Elizabeth “Betty” Heaven sharpen your pencils.

On Sunday, October 6th we lost our beloved “dueling” word search champion, Elizabeth (Betty) Bellefeuille.

Friends and loved ones will miss Betty dearly.

She showed all of us that big things can come in small packages.

Her small frame belied a huge heart and an uncommon fortitude.

Her amazing strength and stamina was matched only by her beauty.

Betty was a simple and, yet, multidimensional.

She was a career woman who loved working at the Northtown Crescent and serving her customers.

She was an impeccable dresser and a caring and generous hostess.

She always had cookies or brownies at the ready and was attentive to even the smallest needs of her guests.

She could be both serious and playful.

She would graciously host a holiday dinner at one moment and teach her grandsons how to play poker the next.

Her Jell-O salad was legendary.

Betty will join her son, Kent and husband Clyde who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her brother, Tom Semancik; two daughters, Gale Snyder and Bobbie Suiter; and four beloved grandchildren: Jodi Inahara-Brown, Randi Rene Suiter, Adam Snyder and Travis Snyder.

She left behind four great-grandchildren: Tyler Suiter, Marisa Inahara, Haydyn Inahara and Cole Dean Snyder.

In her last few years, Betty suffered from severe Alzheimer’s disease.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff of Sunshine Gardens in the city of Spokane Valley who helped her live through the travail with grace and dignity.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 16th, 1:00 pm at the Jesuit House Chapel on the campus of Gonzaga University (just behind St. Aloysius Church).

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Morning Star Boy’s Ranch or Reach for the Future!
