Shock to host tryouts for next year’s roster

 

The Spokane Shock have scheduled their first mini-camptryout in preparation for the 2014 AFL season.

The tyrout will take place Saturday at the Shock facility, 3212 N Eden Road in Spokane Valley.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with testing led by Shock coaches and staff starting at 9.

Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and broad jump. Afterward, Shock coaches will lead position drills and 1-on-1’s. The workouts will be conducted on an AstroTurf surface so cleats will not be permitted on the field. Participants should wear running, training or basketball type shoes and workout attire.

Prep girls soccer

Keeper Ryann Rydeen started the first half, then returned for the second overtime and stopped two shots during the shootout as University defeated Lewis and Clark 2-1 in a Greater Spokane League soccer match Monday night.

The Titans outscored the Tigers 4-3 during the shootout.
