Obituary: Kelly, Raymond Francis, Jr.

Age 87

KELLY, Raymond Francis, Jr. (Age 87) Died at his home in Port Orchard on October 10, 2013.

He was born January 21, 1926 in Spokane, WA to Raymond, Sr. and Helen (King) Kelly.

He graduated from Olympic College in 1974 and So.

Illinois University in 1976.

Raymond was a Safety Inspector at Keyport for 20 years.

He also served in the U. S. Navy for 30 years, retiring in 1974 as Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman E-8.

He received various awards including WWII, Korea, Vietnam and South Pacific campaigns, and Meritorious Service Medal.

Raymond loved his cats, humming birds and “Winston” the Bull Dog.

He liked to read history and spoke fluent Latin.

Surviving are sons Sean, Steven, and Raymond, III (Janis) Kelly; daughter Shannon Kelly; grandchildren Robert Van Meter, Kriston Richardson, Casey, Logan, Raymond IV, and Sean Kelly; great-grandchildren Nichele Van Meter, Jordyn and Kennedy Richardson; brother Kevin Kelly; sister Sheila Bowman; friends Joyce Kelly, Deb Richardson, Pam Christopherson, and Long John the barber.

Graveside service at 9:15 am on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.

Visitation from 3-5:00 pm on Thursday, October 17th at Rills’ Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
