Simpson sparks Post Falls

Erica Simpson scored a goal in each half to propel the Post Falls Trojans to a 2-0 girls soccer victory over the Lewiston Bengals in a 5A Region 1 loser-out game on Wednesday at Post Falls.

The victory earns the Trojans a berth in the state tournament.

Simpson’s first goal came in the 10th minute and her second came in the 49th minute.

Post Falls goalkeeper Sam Runkle made 14 saves to earn the shutout.

In the other loser-out match, Lake City tripped Coeur d’Alene 1-0.
