Obituary: Pedersen, Kristen J. “Kris”
“Kris” (Age 99) Kristen J. Pedersen was born to Lillian (Clark) Adams of Pocatello, ID on February 17, 1914.
He was adopted and raised by Anton and Alvide Pedersen of Idaho Falls, ID.
At age 16, he joined the Army, and was stationed at Scofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii.
Shortly after returning home, he married Gladys I. Skow, and they had six children.
During WWII, he joined the Navy, and was assigned to a minesweeper which was involved in the invasion of Iwo Jima during the South Pacific War.
A successful salesman of plumbing and heating, in 1955 he moved to Spokane and established Norco Heating CO. After his retirement, family members continue to run the Spokane Valley business.
Kris was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his wife of 77 years, Gladys, who was his business partner, companion and the love of his life; also, two sons: Baby Kris and Walter K. Pedersen.
Surviving him are three daughters: Afton Abraham of Tacoma WA, Karen (Tom) Discroll of Spokane, WA, Ellen Doty of Kamiah, ID; and one son, Gerald K. (Teddy) Pedersen of Spokane Valley, WA; 28 Grandchildren, 74 Great-Grandchildren and 28 Great-Great-Grand children.
His legacy was the business, and personal involvement with his family.
An avid and expert fisherman and hunter, he always included his children and Grandchildren instilling in them a great love of nature and the outdoors.
He approached life (The whole 99 äť– years) with a sense of adventure, challenge, and fun.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 4-8 PM at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home, 1315 N Pines Rd, as well as a short visitation Monday, October 21 from 9:30-10:15 AM at the funeral home.
A Service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11 AM in the Hennessey Valley Funeral Home Chapel.
