Vandals bounce back with victory

Jessica Hastriter had 18 kills and six digs, Taylor Wilkinson had eight kills and three blocks and the Idaho Vandals snapped a two-game losing skid with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-17 Western Athletic Conference volleyball win over Missouri-Kansas City (10-9, 4-3) in Moscow, Idaho, Thursday.

Meredith Coba had 39 assists and two service aces for the Vandals (11-8, 4-3).

Eastern Washington 3, Weber St. 0: Kelsey Julian had 12 kills, seven digs and four service aces and the Eagles cruised to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-14 Big Sky Conference win over the Wildcats (5-18, 1-8) in Cheney.

The Eagles (7-13, 4-5) posted a .438 hitting percentage, committing just nine errors on 73 attacks.

San Diego 3, Gonzaga 0: The Toreros came out on top in tight first and third games as San Diego (15-3, 8-0 West Coast Conference) swept the host Bulldogs 27-25, 25-18, 25-23 at the Martin Centre. Savannah Blinn and Imani Wimbush had 10 kills each to lead the Bulldogs (8-9, 4-4). Seniors Kristina Lavrisha and Meredith Crenshaw each added seven kills.

Women’s soccer

Kate Bennett scored in the second minute and assisted Isabel Farrell’s 12th-minute strike and the Washington Huskies (7-6-2, 3-1-2 Pac-12 Conference) held off the visiting Oregon Ducks (3-8-3, 1-4-1) for a 2-1 victory in Seattle.
